Official rules for Clinton’s Got Talent
The talent show will take place on Saturday, June 11th at the Pepsi Events Center in Downtown Clinton at 1pm. Finals will be at the McClain Rogers Park Amphitheatre at 5:30pm. This is a competition open to individuals. There is no age limit. Individuals may have one accompanist. The contest is limited to the first 20 contestants. Contestants must register by calling the Clinton Chamber of Commerce at 580-323-2222. The competition will include singing and or instrumental talent. No other talent accepted. Singers may sing acapella or accompany themselves with a karaoke CD, IPhone or instrument. If using a backing track CD or IPhone, all vocals must be removed. CD’s must be labeled with contestants name and track number needed. If vocals are not removed, contestant will have to sing acapella. Songs must not contain profanity and must be family friendly. Contestants are responsible for making sure the CD or IPhone works correctly. Wright Wradio and The Clinton Chamber of Commerce are not responsible if the backing tracks will not work on the equipment we use. If using an instrument that needs amplification, contestant will have to supply that equipment including a direct box connection if needed. Wright Wradio, Studio 66 and The Clinton Chamber of Commerce are not responsible for any damage to contestants or equipment.
The contest starts at 1pm at the Pepsi Events Center. All contestants must arrive at the Pepsi Center and check in at 12:30pm. We will do a quick sound check and then start your performance. There will be a 15 minute break after the 1st 10 contestants. If contestants are not in the Pepsi Events Center when their name is called to compete, they will be moved to the end of the competition or forfeit depending on time constraints.
Contestants will be scored 1-10 on appearance, stage presence and actual performance. The top 3 finalists will move on to the finals. Final contestants must arrive at McClain Rogers Park and check in by 5pm. Final performance can be the same song or a different performance. Judges are independent and all results are final. Contestants must agree to abide by their decisions. Winner will receive $500.
